Should There Be a Single Global Language?

Conversely, opponents argue that adopting a single global language could result in the loss of cultural identity. Language is a fundamental part of cultural heritage, and each language carries unique historical, social, and cultural nuances. If a universal language were to dominate, minority languages could become extinct, leading to a homogenized global culture that lacks diversity. For example, languages like Maori or Welsh, which are already endangered, could vanish entirely if overshadowed by a global language. This would allow for both effective communication and cultural preservation, offering a more holistic solution to the issue.
